We are looking for new photos to be featured on our front page! It's been a good long while since we've changed up the slideshow, and we'd like to give everyone a chance to contribute their wonderful in-game screenshots.

In addition to featured photos on our home page, we are also looking for images that could be of use in our publication, The Rodent Report. These screenshots have slightly different criteria, listed below. Every little bit of content helps!

Front Page Photos

Front Page Photo Criteria

In order to make sure your photos will be among those picked for the front page, there's some criteria we use to filter out the candidates.

  1. NO visible UI (both in-game or desktop UI) or internal cockpit screenshots.
    1. Station interior shots MAY be ok if they fit the other criteria
  2. Prefer images that do not obstruct the front page text and "GET HELP" button.
    1. This means a right leaning subject with a plain-ish background in the top left of the image is generally preferred.
  3. Avoid editing or adding logos/watermarks. We are looking for in-game screenshots to use as a website backdrop.
  4. 1920x1080 resolution minimum. PNG is preferred, but a high quality JPEG with low compression is fine.
  5. The screenshot MUST be taken by you.

How to Submit to the Front Page

Feel like you have photos that meet the above criteria?   Submit them to our screenshots drop box!

  1. First, rename your images. Make sure your CMDR name is included in the file name for us to credit you.
    1. Want to remain anonymous? Add "CMDR Anonymous" to the file name.

    2. Images uploaded WITHOUT a CMDR NAME in the filename will NOT qualify.

Rodent Report Photos

How to Take the Most Usable Photos

  1. Set your graphics to the highest settings (remember your current settings, or backup your config files) anti-aliasing should be disabled
  2. Be in Solo or PG
  3. Get your screenshot ready
  4. Press Alt+F10 (this takes a screenshot at 4x your resolution)
  5. Open your screenshot in the Windows Photo Viewer C:\Users\USERNAME\OneDrive\Pictures\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous
  6. Save your image as a .png file to compress the file from ~170MB down to ~50MB

How to Submit to the Rodent Report

  1. Use the steps above to guarantee a usable quality.,
  2. Rename the screenshot using the following format (the number is optional if submitting multiple shots of the same subject)
    1. <CMDR Name>-<PictureSubject>-<Number>.png     Example: Delryn-MandalayBeautyShot-3.png,
  3. Go to https://delryn.net/s/j9EFSLiMoHwzrrY
  4. Drop desired screenshot(s) onto the webpage, or click the "Select or drop files" button
