On the Fuel Rats IRC network, all registered users (i.e, rats) are given special vhosts masks, or virtual hosts. These Vhost masks show up in your channel join/leave and quit messages, and your WHOIS information. It is a quick way to discern what role a particular rat might have, and also works with some of our systems to grant privileges to certain bot services.
