The safest way to perform planetary rescues is to have the client log in to a 1.6 version of the game (non-Horizons version), which will give them the option to teleport into orbit. Once there, the rescue can be performed normally even by non-Horizons players.

Xbox Planetary Rescues
On Xbox, there is no way to load the non-Horizons version of the game. It has been tested unsuccessfully, so a different process is required. It is possible if the client has enough o2 remaining to locate them on a planet and to manually flip them over using another ship, allowing fuel limpets to connect and transfer fuel. Gather as much information from the client about their location on the planet prior to having them log in for a visual location fix (unless they have a screenshot of their location). Once the location is determined, the rats should fly as close as possible to the last known location and prepare for the rescue.
